Latest Update

The postponement of date may have shaken you, raised your eyebrows and raised some of your voices a little bit. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify our stand.

Please be assured that there was too many arguments on whether the event should go on. November is jampacked with many cycling events every weekend and this date has the most minimal damage.

The organizers of this event are equally frustrated and when most of our sponsors are big brands in the cycling industry, time changes are opportunity costs. Yet, these sponsors persevered and stayed with us in the course. There is endless gratitude for them and it is our utmost privilege to still have them with us through these tough times.

It was an extremely difficult decision, finding a balance between the safety of our participants, venue condition and opportunity costs at stake. Most of the participants were also very supportive of our decision, which made us feel more at ease. However, we have received a small number of calls criticizing us at the whole situation, and some even worse – personal attacks.

Come on people, its flood we’re talking about. A life endangering situation.

Check out this, this and this. Floods are already in Alor Setar.

People have lost their lives, and we don’t want to gamble with the flood just because WE HAVE TO. This is very frustrating for us when we get calls yelling at us without knowing how dangerous it is. Not only you not being able to attend the event, we feel the loss too.

Alor Setar has been affected since last night and many of us are still helping our friends & family to move furniture and clean up. It has been so hectic these few days and the team here needs your support and kind understanding.

We apologize if we have caused inconvenience to you on the date change. Yet, it is inevitable. You can’t even reach UUM with your vehicle with the highway blocked.

We will truly appreciate your courtesy of politely asking, instead of yelling without knowing what actually happened. Maybe we’re not destined to meet at all.

For those who stood by us all this while, we cannot thank you more! A GAZILLION thanks to all the participants who lent us their kind understanding and supported us. Sponsors from overseas – Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan have also given us their support and believed in us, why can’t our very own Malaysians who SHOULD know better?

Guys, let not this thing bring us down and live up to your sportsmanship. We will send out a conclusive note to all participants to state the meeting dates and logistics.

Let’s all make this work – ALTOGETHER. =)
